Acceptance leads to solutions but denial leads to confusion. My name is Michael Arthur. I am a therapist and a teacher who combines Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Spirituality to support my patients.

I have been working with diverse groups, children and adults who experience Mental Health illnesses, deal with substance abuse problems and those with developmental disabilities using empirically supported treatments and evidence-based practices for over 12 years now. I help achieve patients’ goals by using empathy, cultural-responsiveness, and person-centeredness among other things.
I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy tools to help patients identify, understand and accept their symptoms and develop new skills to manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I have worked with patients with depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodevelopmental and personal disorders.
I believe people possess more power over their life than they can admit. I also believe in the power of spirituality and the idea that loving yourself, others, and the earth is the true meaning of kindness. I therefore, tap into patients’ beliefs and concept of self and the earth in treatment to help them manage their psycho-social problems.
